PADRE GARCIA, BATANGAS – To further imbibe social responsibility and community service, the Aurotech family spent a day in Aurotech's Gawad Kalinga Assumption Village last September 21 to revive the spirit of bayanihan (communal unity). Employees happily cleaned out weeds and levelled the soil in front of an on-going construction of a school building in the GK village. The participants were further encouraged to socialize with the residents and play with the children.
The Gawad Kalinga Assumption Village was launched in 2006 by Aurotech's Chairman, Danilo Dimayuga, and aims to construct 100 houses. To date, a total of 50 houses have been built and turned-over to poor families. |
